A roar erupted from the forest, making the startled young Aren trip. He looked about wildly, forgetting the weapon at his hip. Upon examining his surroundings, he saw that he was near the foothills leading to Dirt Hill and the gold mines. Aren pulled the scroll from his coat pocket, reading it once more, reminding himself that Minster Fanten was probably there ready to teach Aren his daily lessons. He was about to make his way towards the mines when the same roar sounded over the forest again, reminding Aren of the creature he was tracking before.
